I use
a lot my knowledge of counterpoint, of harmony, of musical forms, of
orchestration, of history of musical styles. While teaching the repertoire
to young pianist or to piano lover, I find with him the logic of composition
of the musical piece such as musical elements and means of composition
used by the author to create his work.
The
analysis of work from the point of view of its composition help
us to acquire its global vision and consequently, to learn it by heart
very quickly by putting ourselves on a place of composer during interpretation.
With a
pupil, we listen, we analyse, and we compare different interpretations
of works that he plays. This is the recordings of the great pianists
of the XXth century.
